The work of volunteers:-

Volunteers are generous people as they don’t just donate money to a charity, but they give up their time. By volunteers giving up their time, charities don’t have have to pay the workers/organisers which enables the charity to put all of its funds into helping people who are in desperate need.

Being a volunteer or giving up hours of a person's time, show very good citizenship skills. It is something that everybody should aspire to do. It’s putting something back into society.

An example of good citizen volunteers are the people that help reintegrate soldiers back into society, after they have fought in war. The volunteers work together with the former soldiers in order to provide them with a home and food. They fund-raise by making people aware and gather donations. They also work with the soldiers, by providing counseling and building their social skills up again, so that they are able to fully integrate.

I believe that this is a very important charity soldiers put their lives in danger in order for us here living freely.

Many people forget about the after the after effects of war and how it can in many cases be traumatizing for the individual.

Another organisation of volunteers that people find important are the people that help out at Nature reserves. They maintain the greenery and litter pick in order to prevent the wildlife becoming injured, or leading to fatal injuries.

This enables people like myself to enjoy the nature for walks in throughout the day, potentially with their dog - to feel comfortable and at peace.

I believe that this is also really important as it shows that people can be generous and don’t have to be publically known for donating their time, but yet, they are happy to do so.
